House of Keys

House of Keys is a commissioned painting I did for a couple. They had the same wedding vows, but I didn’t like how they were written, so I rewrote them into a poem: “In the house of keys, the owners of lonely hearts will return to love, always.” There is great symbolism between the two lovers giving each other their keys, the difference between the two houses, and the generational wealth they inherited. The fox mask coming off symbolizes letting your significant other see your true face.
