Sensitive Vegan

Part of my Giants and Their Pets series, this piece depicts a man carrying his pet whales on his back, protecting them from the dangers of the sea. In an obscure way, it explores the instinct to protect the things we love from harm—how far we might go to shelter something precious, even when the thing we are trying to protect belongs to a world far larger than ourselves.
